The cost of living is increasing every day, and so is the price of housing, as many people struggle not just to make rent, but even consider purchasing a house. That is why the world of housing alternatives has become more popular, as workers need to find different ways to met their housing needs, the market expands to accommodate alternative forms of housing that a few years ago would have been fringe and that are now becoming mainstream. One of the alternatives that has gained momentum over the past few years is the tiny house movement, but while it was originally very DYI forward, the new wave is bringing luxury alternatives that are prefabricated.

Prefabricated housing has been popular for a very long time, but whereas before it was seen as a very undesirable alternative to brick and mortar, nowadays it is seen as a very smart way to bypass many of the housing issues that we are having today. The Chinese company Höli Haus seems to have seen the writing on the wall and has jumped into the new trend, creating luxury homes that are redefining what it means to live in a prefab house, and they are doing so in style.

These homes are not very big, shipping still needs to be taken into account when it comes to these products, and while they could certainly be bigger, the 40 m² pack a very unexpected punch for those new to the movement.

The house that might solve a portion of the housing crisis

The Höli Haus is quite modern in appearance and it has been designed to maximize both interior space and the connection to the outdoors, which is needed when the house is as small as this one. It is made out a high-strength galvanized steel structure and aluminum alloy finishes accompanies by a lot of double-layered, hermetically sealed glass panels. This construction method allows for both great acoustic and thermal insulation as well as durability and minimal maintenance.

While the outside box is impressive, the inside is even more jaw dropping, as it has all the modern conveniences that one might need, like electric underfloor heating, central air conditioning, electric stovetops, a water heater, a shower screen, a smart toilet, and a complete electrical system. It also features more than a few wants, meaning that owners will not have to splurge after, like automatic blackout curtains, decorative LED lights, an exhaust fan, a washing machine connection, and a built-in closet.

All this comes with quite the steep price, a base price of approximately $95,000 which does not include shipping costs from the factory to its final location, so you will be responsible for getting it from Guangdong, China to its final resting place, but that is still an amazing price for all the amenities that you get considering the nature of he house as well as the housing market. Other features that the home comes with that might tempt you are:

  • 360° glazed panels with double-paned glass for insulation and light transmission
  • Galvanized steel structure and fluorocarbon aluminum cladding
  • Radiant floor heating, central air conditioning, and automatic curtains
  • Full bathroom with screen, mirror, towel rack, shelving, and smart toilet
  • Kitchen with electric stove, water heater, and washing machine connection
  • Smart lock and design for extreme climates
  • Two models available, both 38 m² with different interior layouts

There are two models available, both measuring the same, with varying interior layouts: one with fully integrated spaces and another that separates the bedroom from the living area via the bathroom, but regardless of the option you choose, it can be installed in all types of climates, thanks to its double-glazed windows, folding mosquito nets, and adjustable support legs. It is also meant to withstands extreme conditions such as humidity, pests, and fire, which makes it perfectly suitable for most places around the world.
