The owner of Tesla, X (Twitter), and Space X, Elon Musk, has decided to move his operations to Texas, leaving California behind. This change has had an inevitable impact on the US government. In the Boca China area, construction is currently underway on Starbase, a futuristic municipality. Kathryn Lueders explains that the goal is to be a hub for innovation and life. However, on the other hand, space launches are actions that are under scrutiny. For example, Christopher Basaldú highlights the environmental pollution and damage they cause.

New Elon Musk’s idea

Elon Musk is an really successful US businessman famous for being the wealthiest person in the world at this time, because of to his several financial endeavours and projects that have catapulted him to that position. He is most well-known for innovating Tesla, X, and SpaceX as well as the Department of Government Efficiency. His duty has had far-reaching impact all along America and the globe, and he is nowhere close to slowing down.

Musk moves his operations to Texas amidst tension with governmental laws

Apart from purchasing the ground for their rocket launch site in Texas back in the 2010s, Musk has, for the most part, woked out of California on the West Coast of the USA. Both X and SpaceX had their main office  in this sunny state until Musk reportedly turned out to fed up with the government of California and on time moved his movements to Texas, where he already has land. Net to a plausible ruling where schools were forbidden from informing parents whether their children used determined pronouns, Musk had seen enough. In a tweet, he stated:

This is the final straw. Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.

And so, Musk took the decision to further establish himself and his business in Texas, where he considered the people and governmental rules more approriate to his job. But it didn’t stop there. Musk is currently shooting even higher and is in the prcedure  of almost running this tiny part of coastal Texas, where his launch site lies.

The next step for the wealthiest man in the world

At the time you have all the wealth, money, and fame in the world, what is your next goal? For Musk, the answer is easy: the creation of your own corporate city! Getting three highly affluent companies and constantly producing new designs, Musk currently has the wealth and resources to establish his very own city in the south of Texas, whose location is strategically around SpaceX’s huge rocket site, this new village is turning into a home base for several of Musk’s workers. Aptly known as Starbase, the town has already received several signatures required to be a registered municipality.

Starbase currently has over 500 residents and is increasing. The areazone is reportedly biggers than Central Park, and almost just the home to SpaceX workers and their children. Starbase’s general manager, Kathryn Lueders, notes:

“Incorporating Starbase will streamline the processes required to build the amenities necessary to make the area a world-class place to live – for the hundreds already calling it home, as well as for prospective workers eager to help build humanity’s future in space”

Locals do not accepts Musk’s visionary plans for a corporate city

In the meantin Musk express his excitement at the increasement of Starbase and what it can presents for incoming investigation, neighbouring residents are not as content. Starbase considerates itself located in a very relevant ecological area named Boca Chica, home of numerous wildlife, plants, and birdlife crucial to the Texas environment. Preocupations related to air pollution, habitat destruction, noise, and water pollution are rising among defenders.

Environmentalist and anthropologist Christopher Basaldú states that Space X has just proven itself to be a truly bad neighbour.

All along with recent rocket launches and research that was not included in the original environmental reviews, damage to the area could get way out of hand.
