The one and only Six Flags Magic Mountain, in Valencia, California, will be demolishing two of its most famous attractions for the little ones: Magic Flyer and Tweety’s Escape.

This two attraction that were identified as #2208 y #2215 were scheduled to say goodbye on December 17.  Local reporters confirm the two rides in question, are indeed these family rides. Although there’ hasn’t been any official report win the subject.

A park spokesman told Newsweek: “Six Flags Magic Mountain has been creating family memories for more than five decades… We understand that saying goodbye to beloved rides can be difficult, but this change is part of a much larger plan to enhance the guest experience for families. We look forward to sharing the exciting details soon.” The park present the situation as an opportunity to renovate the experience.

Removing decades of memories

Magic Flyer y Tweety’s were two of the favorites rides for the little ones. It was a good attraction for kids and beginners that were looking to start smoothly—level 1 on excitement. Now, they are leaving the theme park after making so many memories for entire family generations.

Six Flags Magic Mountain, in Valencia opened in 1971, and today it has some of the highest and fastest roller coasters in the country. Although the park hasn’t explained the reason behind the demolishing of these rides, the permits point to a removal date and a value of $20,000 (for the two attraction). However, there has been some changes going on at the park in the last year; the company has been facing financial pressure.

Last November, a report showed that in the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, numbers were not as good as they expected. But they still keep competing in the leadership race of best rides in the U.S.

Magic Flyer and Tweety’s Escape: Lots of first time memories

Magic Flyer is a junior roller coaster located in Whistlestop Park that reaches a height of 10 feet. The park itself describes it as a beginner thrill ride for kids. “All aboard! Take a seat in a passenger car on this beginner thrill ride for kids and enjoy gentle hills and pint sized thrills on this junior-sized open-air roller coaster. Young thrill seekers will ride up a 10 foot tall hill and see the sights in the charming little train village of Whistlestop Park before looping back to the station.” Is how the official site describe it.

Tweety’s Escape, on the other hand, it’s inspired by Tweety Bird character from the Looney Tunes. On the site, there are suspended cages—but, cute ones—that swell gently on a circular movement.

The two of them have been key attraction for the park, creating nostalgic souvenirs sharing many “first times” for a lot of families over time. This removal, might just be part of a bigger modernization plan, and that location won’t probably be empty for too long after Tweety’s Escape and Magic Flyer say goodbye.

Things change over time—the rides too

Six Flags is still today, the bigger regional operator on amusement complex in North America; with 26 theme parks, 15 water parks and 9 resort. This show they have the capacity, knowledge to maintain, invest and update their business if they need too.

It might be a little sad, for those who shared so many moments in those attractions. But Magic Flyer and Tweety’s Escape will now leave space to new adventures, new machines, new first times…

According to the official message: “this change is part of a much larger plan to enhance the guest experience for families.” So hopes on! This leans more towards new proposition to the families.
