There’s good news for those who prefer simple methods to earn free money: Disney has partnered with Chase Bank to launch a new series of financial promotions that combine Disney rewards, cash back, and statement credits. Customers who use the Disney Premier Visa, which has an annual fee of $49, can receive a $400 statement credit after spending $1,000 during the first three months.

Those who choose to use the Disney Visa can spend $500 in the same time period and receive a $200 statement credit (no annual fee). Additionally, you can earn Disney rewards with both cards, which can be exchanged for meals, gifts, or Walt Disney World experiences.

For a more general option, JPMorgan Chase also offers the Chase Freedom Unlimited, which offers ongoing cash back on regular purchases in addition to a $200 bonus after spending $500 in three months.

JPMorgan Chase, is the largest bank in the United States, holding about $3.5 trillion in assets and serving over 82 million customers. And they seem to now what they are doing: The Chase Bank and Disney’s offers are part of a bigger trend in the banking industry, where other big banks are introducing bank bonuses and financial promotions to draw in new clients. Citibank, for example, is offering up to $325 in bonus cash, and Wells Fargo is offering up to $2,500.

How the bonuses work

These promotions are meant to be simple: if you spend a specific amount within the first three months, you will receive cash back or a statement credit.

  • Disney Premier Visa: Spend $1,000 in 3 months = $400 statement credit.
  • Disney Visa: Spend $500 in 3 months = $200 statement credit.
  • Chase Freedom Unlimited: Spend $500 in 3 months = $200 bonus, plus ongoing cash back.

Disney rewards points, which can be used at Walt Disney World, are also earned with either Disney card. An additional benefit for Chase Private Client Checking members is 10% off at Disney, which can be accepted for additional savings when combined with other Disney benefits or discounts.

Who could benefit from this offer?

These offers may seem like free money for regular expenses if you currently use a credit card sensibly. For example: Considering a vacation to Walt Disney World? You can reduce your overall expenses and earn Disney rewards more quickly with the Disney Premier Visa and Disney Visa. Would you prefer to keep flexibily? With no yearly fee, Chase Freedom Unlimited provides cash back on groceries, gas, and other typical purchases.

Quick tips for beginners:

  1. Avoid going over budget just to get a bonus.
  2. Interest reduces your bonus, so pay your balance amount in full each month.
  3. To be eligible for the offer, keep track of the three-month period.
  4. Keep in mind that Disney Visa is free, but Disney Premier Visa costs $49 per year.

Perhaps check out your bank first if you aren’t a Chase Bank customer. Given that Wells Fargo offers promotions up to $2,500 and Citibank offers bonuses of up to $325. Check out the benefits offered by other banks, like Huntington Bank, Associated Bank, and Flushing Bank because most of them also provide cash back.

Ready for your next Disney World’s visit?

These bank bonuses from Chase Bank, Disney, and JPMorgan Chase provide tangible incentives for spending in a prudent way, but I see where the exciment comes from. With the 10% off benefit offered by Chase Private Client Checking, you can save even more at Walt Disney World, earn Disney rewards, or receive cash back.

When you combine that with the rival financial promotions offered by Wells Fargo and Citibank, it’s obvious that large banks are competing for customers‘ attention…. Newsflash: it’s already working.

However, if you use your credit cards responsibly and make your payments on time, these offers actually turn into free money, plus a little extra Disney magic.
