Following the recalling of a 10-drawer dresser that Walmart sold online, child safety is once again a top priority in the US. The unit poses a serious risk of tipping over and trapping small children, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The notice is posted on Walmart’s product recall page, and Gunaito handles refunds.

This case adds up to the list of other products being recall for caution like power bank chargers, home furnishings and accessories that carry risks for the consumer.

The rule is easy for buyers: if a defective product is recalled, stop using it immediately and stick to the official instructions.

Why is Walmart recalling this dresser?

From December 2024 to August 2025, Walmart was selling the 10-drawer dresser online for about $70. And although there have been no reports of injuries yet, the dresser might fall over and trap a child, which could be fatal, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

If you haven one of these, the recall advises you to:

  • Give up using the dresser right away.
  • Make sure kids can’t reach it.
  • After reading the recall notice, send an email to Gunaito requesting a refund.
  • Verify information and procedures by visiting Walmart’s product recall listings.

This reminder agrees with the overall concept in home furnishings: to reduce the chance of tipping over, even standard, low-cost items must be used carefully and with stable placement, anchoring where needed, and supervision. Child safety comes first.

More recent recalls

In addition to the dresser, more than 133,000 blinds that were sold on Amazon between June 2023 and June 2025 were recalled due to a strangulation hazard and infractions of window covering regulations. Prices went as high as $124. Families with young children should immediately remove any recalled products and inspect window coverings.

Baby cribs and an LXDHSTRA baby lounger are also among the other products mentioned posing fall and entrapment hazard as well as suffocating hazard.

Because of the risk of an explosion, an Anker charging device was recalled in the electronics industry. In addition to Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and even TikTok Shop sold that device too. Over 480,000 units were recalled overall.

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) consistently issue recalls with clear instructions so customers are able to return or receive a refund when a defective product represents a risk. Public portals like as FoodSafety.gov and the CPSC website are also helpful resources for recall and general safety information.

What consumers should do now

If you are among the customers who purchased the 10-drawer dresser from Walmart, you should take immediate action to stop using it and keep it out of the reach of kids. Check the seller’s and CPSC’s official recall. Remember that in order to request your refund, you have to email Gunaito.

Check the recall lists occasionally (for more updates, visit the Walmart product recall page or public websites like CPSC and FoodSafety.gov). Look over other products at home: if you purchased blinds from Amazon during the specified dates, an Anker charger from Amazon, Best Buy, Target, or Walmart, or a baby lounger/crib from LXDHSTRA, make sure you follow the recall guidelines.

Recalls keep people safe. The risk persists if a faulty product remains in your house. Stopping use, isolating, contacting, and refunding immediately protects your family and lowers the risk of accidents.

We occasionally purchase items with the idea that “if it’s on the store, it has already been approved,” but little we know trials can miss details and dangers are always around the corner. So don’t panic; even though recalls occasionally occur after a purchase is completed, they are done specifically to protect us.
