There are great news for those who are eligible for Medicare and have decided to purchase a Medicare Advantage plan with NationsBenefits, and that is that, thanks to a partnership with Walmart, you can now use some of the benefits that come with this plan online. With inflation at an all time high and gas prices soaring, sometimes going in person to a store only to be turned away and have to go somewhere else can get fairly tiring, but with this new way of doing business, you can link your benefit card straight to your Walmart.com account, which will unlock a personalized shopping setup that can help you easily spot and buy the health-related items your plan covers.
This feature is not just an amazing time saver, as it will show items that are covered separate from those that are not, but it will also help you save money as you will be able to just add these items to the cart and even help you compare the prices when you do the same in other stores to ensure that you are only purchasing the cart that is most advantageous to you.
It will also help you get more out of your benefits, as you can now filter your search to only show items that qualify for your benefits, making the shopping process a lot more straightforward.
An amazing plus, it also works in store, although the process might be a bit more cumbersome. To ensure that you are only purchasing items included, you will need to open the app in store and scan the products that you are interested in purchasing. The system will then tell you if they are covered under your Medicare Advantage plan or not. In both scenarios, in store or online, you will also be able to see in real time how much of your benefit balance is left, so you do not have to guess or keep track manually
The new Medicare Advantage and Walmart partnership, a real life saver for those in need
One thing that many people do not know about is that a lot of Medicare Advantage members leave money on the table because about two-thirds of them do not ever use the extra perks included in their plans as they do not know where to use them. We do not advocate for squeezing the system unnecessarily, but if you have already paid for something that you need, why should you have to pay twice. That is why Walmart is now hoping that by simplifying access and creating a smoother experience, more people will actually use what is available to them.
Along with this new way of using your Medicare benefits, Walmart also would like to help customers eat better and do so with ease, as the company stated in a release “Half of Americans are trying to eat healthier.” To support that goal, they introduced a new digital tool called Everyday Health Signals, which is powered by AI and also connects directly to your Walmart.com account.
Once you opt in, the new platform looks at your shopping history and gives you easy-to-follow recommendations, like nutrition breakdowns and suggested grocery lists. Walmart describes the tool as offering “personalized guidance that aligns with their wellness goals.” The idea is to give you real, useful insight based on what you actually buy and not just general advice.
“We’re innovating with tech-enabled health solutions that equip customers with a better understanding of how small decisions in the grocery aisle can help improve their overall health,” said Pravene Nath, MD, who heads up Walmart’s consumer health and data solutions. “By allowing customers the opportunity to make more informed choices with Walmart Everyday Health Signals, we’re creating the opportunity for widespread health impact.”
